Don't make it all about you

Facebook Marketing Mistake #4

Being to “Me” Focused…

We all know “that guy” or “that girl”. The one at the party who only want to talk about himself. No matter what the conversation is, it ALWAYS comes back around to HIM. What he’s doing, how good HE is, what he likes, where He’s been or where he’s going. And to top it all off, he’s LOUD about it.

Pretty soon, everyone’s wondering the same thing – Who invited this guy? And then, at every party after that, you always ask (or at least wonder) is that guy gonna be there? Gosh I hope not.

(watch the video here)

Don’t you just hate that?

Well the exact same thing happens on FB. I’m on FB, checking in on all the happening of my friends and interests and there’s that one “business” that keeps popping up in my newsfeed blaring at me at how good he is in his posts.

Annoying! Pretty soon, I really start questioning why I “liked” him in the first place and then eventually I “hide” his posts.

Don’t be that guy!

Besides that, when know one engages with you, FB stops showing your posts in their newsfeeds anyway.

So, how do you avoid being “that guy”? Here are some tips.

#1 – Know your audience. Spend some time finding out who they are and what their interests are.

#2 – Don’t ONLY be posting about you and your company. Post and share things that they find interesting.

That’s how to avoid mistake #4

And BTW -  After you've watched the video, I'd love to hear from you.  I'd love to know if you found this info helpful and what successes or struggles you've experienced with posting (or not posting) consistently to FB.
